33kv Raft Modifications

We designed bespoke copper tubing clamps for the HV cables terminations and arranged manufactured. We also installed modifications to the insulated pots, to our client’s individual requirements, plus installed all cable supports and containment. These rafts were located at

Staines Substation

  • 33kV Separable Connectors to 1 x New Transmag Transformer
  • Trifurcation Joint installed on existing PILC Cable to rectifier breaker

Hampton Substation

  • 33kV Separable Connectors to 1 x New Transmag Transformer
  • Pfisterer size 3 terminations completed to rectifier breaker

Barnes Substation

  • A bank of new switch gear installed in the existing substation building
  • Removal of the old equipment
  • Carried out 33kV Terminations to switch gear and transformers on change overs and isolations

HV London Underground



LUL SSR Power Upgrade Package 4

  • 11kV & 22kV Feeder renewals on London underground.
  • Pre-commissioning the newly installed HV cables within the tunnels and through station platforms on night possessions.
  • Installation of 11kV & 22kV straight joints and trifurcation joints along with phasing end to end at each substation.

Finchley Road Substation

  • Installation of all 11kV and 22kV Terminations and Joints to new and old switch gear to include switch gear end box modifications
  • PILC to XLPE joints and terminations to transformers.

Harrow on the Hill Substation

  • 11kV End box Modification to rectifier breakers compound filled boxes.
  • Termination to transformers and rectifier transformers.

Naesden BSP

  • Various 11kV & 22kV Terminations within the Substation and around site.
  • 250 plus terminations and joints installed here.

Harrow Substation

We worked alongside Pfisterer Engineers to agree an electrical design for the termination of new Pfisterer cables. The switchgear being used was previously installed on a wind farm and had to be expertly adapted to fit the restricted space at Harrow Substation. We implemented electrical principles with stress areas and, with our experience of the terminations, were able to build up and adapt the non-standard earthing arrangements within the termination measurements to enable a way forward.

Neasden Traction Substation

  • Installation of all 11kV and 22kV Terminations and Joints to new and old switch gear to include switch gear end box modifications
  • PILC to Xlpe joints and terminations to transformers.

LUL Batch 1 & 2

  • Terminated DC within cabinets on the positive and negative busbars
  • Commissioned busbars into service
  • Exclusively allowed to sweat lugs onto 935mm2 underground cable from LUL Maintainer

Uxbridge DC Track Works

  • Terminated DC cables within cabinets on the positive and negative busbars to include track connections
  • Commissioned busbars into service

Rickmansworth DC Track Works

  • Successfully terminated DC cables within cabinets on the positive and negative busbars to include track connections
  • Commissioned busbars into service

Barking Sidings

  • Successfully terminated DC cables within cabinets on the positive and negative busbars to include track connections
  • Commissioned busbars into service
  • DC switch gear modifications completed at this site also
